Etymology[]

The name Duwamish comes from the Old Trentannian translation of the name of the first emperor of the Cowlitzian Empire, 이슬제가요미쉬 (Duwamish). The name was first officially used by the Kingdom of Duwamish in 1680 and the land was previously called Greater Cowlitz by the Trentannia.
