The Duwamish Sports Network, officially referred to by its acronym DSN or dsn, is a Duwamishite cable and satellite television network dedicated to broadcasting and producing sports-related programming 24 hours a day.
Founded by business partners Larry Davis and Bill Morris, it launched on 16 May 1970, broadcasting a DSL and Dawson derby game between Dawson Ducks and Dawson United. Larry Davis has served as CEO of DSN since its founding, while Bill Morris went on to establish Dawson Media, who would later buy a renamed DSN in 2000. DSN would later become half-owned by Yi Media after a deal in late 2010.
DSN's signature telecast, The Review, debuted with the network and aired its 6,000th episode on 1 February 2010. DSN broadcasts primarily from its studios in the DSN Tower in Downtown Dawson, Duwamish. The network also operates offices in Bremerton and Kalama. DSN markets itself as "The 12th fan's favorite channel". Most programming on DSN and its sister networks, which include DSN2, DSN3, and DSN3D, consist of live or tape-delayed sets of events and sports-related news programming (such as The Review). The remainder includes sports-related talk shows (such as "AIFF Night" and "Hoop Talk") and sports-related documentaries (such as "The Simlympics Story").
Since Dawson Media bought DSN in 1999, new sister channels have been established, beginning with DSN2, DucksTV, and the website DSN3.dwh in late 1999 and early 2000. In 2009, DSNI was launched to moderate success, broadcasting around the world. On 7 December 2010, a new logo style and on-screen graphics set were announced along with several new channels, including DSNews, DSNU, DSN한글, DSNFútbol, DSN+ and DSNClassic. Dawson Media-owned DSRN-FM became DSN Radio in this announcement along with DSN Magazine replacing Sporting Green Magazine.
